HOLYOKE — Jason Turcotte, owner of Turcotte Data & Design, a website design and development business in Ware, was named the 2012 Director of the Year for Business Networking International (BNI) Western Massachusetts at the organization’s annual banquet held Jan. 17 at the Delaney House.
Turcotte served as a Director Consultant for the business networking group for two years, until mid-2012, helping 250 members in 11 chapters in the region by sharing stories of his experience, education and success with the organization. Previously, Turcotte also served as a BNI Ambassador for one year.
The Director of the Year Award is chosen by the BNI Western Massachusetts Executive Team and recognizes one director for his or her commitment and dedication to the organization and for accomplishments within the chapters each oversees.
Tim Roberts, executive director for BNI Western Massachusetts, Maine and New Hampshire, said the individual chosen is a role model in the organization and consistently goes beyond expectation to help members achieve success through BNI.
“It is his enthusiasm and passion that make Jason Turcotte a genuine leader,” said Roberts. “Anyone can follow the responsibilities of the job, but it is Turcotte’s energy, personality and zest that he puts into his role every day that make him distinctive and deserving of this annual award. We are very grateful to have Jason as part of our team and as our Director of the Year.”
In June 2012, Turcotte became the Managing Director of the Western Mass. BNI region, which encompasses Hampshire, Hampden, Franklin and Berkshire counties. This is a part-time role he took on in addition to his work with Turcotte Data & Design, and it helps him fulfill his personal passion to help business professionals be more successful.
As Managing Director, Turcotte’s responsibilities include overseeing and providing continued structure, training and support to the region’s chapters and members in Western Mass. His role is to ensure that every chapter is following the BNI system, establishing goals and keeping pace to achieve them. He also supports the Leadership Team for each of the chapters.
